Corporate Director of Finance
£131k salary package

whg is a growing social business that is building homes, communities and successful lives throughout the Midlands region. We are a community-based organisation: proud of our local roots in Walsall, and ambitious for our continued growth and increased capacity to invest in homes and services that create successful communities. We excel at regenerating places: working in partnership with our customers and partners to address housing need and to tackle wider social and economic issues, such as poverty, inequality and health. Our ability to do all of this relies on being a well-run, financially resilient organisation that understands value for money and realises the full potential of the resources at our disposal.

As Corporate Director of Finance you will be part of the Group’s Executive Team and the strategic lead for the full suite of Finance functions, that include: Treasury management; Procurement; Business Planning; and Financial Management. You’ll provide expert strategic financial advice at Board level to ensure that decision-making is well-informed, and that associated risks are identified and fully evaluated.

We expect that you will be a qualified accountant and that you already have extensive senior management experience in a Finance and Treasury role. You’ll have a clear understanding of how effective strategic treasury management can ensure appropriate funding solutions are available to support growth. You’ll already be accustomed to leading business planning, budgeting and reporting processes, working with Boards or Committees. And you should have practical experience of managing procurement processes in line with regulatory requirements.

Your technical finance skills should be complemented by keen commercial awareness and a commitment to high standards of customer service and service improvement. You’ll understand how effective performance management and inspirational leadership can build successful and capable teams, with clarity of purpose and shared values.

We are dedicated to the success of our people and places. If you share this belief you’ll discover an organisation where you can commit your skills to improving people’s lives.
